I am looking to start a study of costs and conditions that affect egg production.  What I will look at is the effects of protein percentages in feed, temperature and feed consumption on the cost of egg production.  Long story short, the study should take about a year but could reveal whether you are actually making a profit on your egg sales and how to adjust your practices to maximize profits.  I don’t want to be overwhelmed with data input so I plan to solicit up to 25 free range poultry producers that have less than 100 birds.  The producers will be required to keep very accurate records of feed use, eggs produced and poultry mortality.  If you are interested in participating in this study please get in contact with me via email .
